Our guides for technology

Picture of Carl DasCarl Das, Ph.D. - Director of ASIC Services at IMEC in Belgium. He started the MPW (Multi Project Wafer) service at IMEC and was Foundry Working Group Leader in the EUROCHIP project.  Since 1995 he is Chairman of the EUROPRACTICE project and recently he started with TSMC the Emerging Business Program in Europe offering access to TSMC technologies for prototyping and initial volumes for the European emerging start-up companies.  He holds an Electrical Engineering degrees, Master (1977) and PhD (1984), from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium.

Picture of Jean MermetJean Mermet, Ph.D. - Chief Scientist at SAFEtronix. To undertake these functions, he left in March 2004 the two positions - the Directeur de recherches at the CNRS and the Director of the European Chips and Systems design Initiative (ECSI). Jean Mermet is also the founder of LEDA company, which he set up in 1990. LEDA became quickly a technology leader on VHDL, with most VHDL front-ends used by EDA companies to-day originating from LEDA solutions. In 2000, LEDA was acquired by Synopsys.

Picture of Wolfgang RosenstielProf. Dr. Wolfgang Rosenstiehl - director of the “System Design in Microelectronics” department at the Computer Science Research Center Karlsruhe and a professor for Computer Engineering at the University of Tübingen since 1990.
He is a member of the ITRS-Committee (International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors), the chairman of the German edacentrum, the editor-in-chief of the Springer Journal “Design Automation for Embedded Systems”, a committee member of DFG senate for Collaborative Research Centre affairs, a scientific member of the Authorising Committee for Collaborative Research Centres and a DATE fellow. He has recently received a Shared University Grant from IBM (consisting of an IBM mainframe computer) and an ERC Advanced Grant for the development of a bidirectional cortical communication interface (BCCI).

picture of Richard TobiasRichard Tobias - Vice President of Operations and Engineering at Samplify Systems, Inc. He has over 29 years of experience in corporate management, engineering management, business development and engineering for the electronics, embedded systems, IC development, DSP and CAD/EDA industries. Mr. Tobias previously worked as the CTO and Vice President of Engineering at Pixelworks, Inc. and was the Vice President of the ASIC & Foundry Business Unit at Toshiba America Electronics Components.
